The Job

As part of our international strategy, in 2015 we launched Orangebox US Inc. and are now providing our products to the USA marketplace.

To support our growth we are looking to recruit a talented and knowledgeable Installation & Service Engineer who will be responsible predominantly for the West Coast region.

The key area of responsibility will be to ensure Orangebox US Inc deliver a first class service in the support of our dealer network, through training of the dealers, installation and service support, and quality assurance related items.

The Role

The day to day role will involve assisting in the supervision of the Orangebox product installations and service work by our network of dealers on client premises.  You will be expected to liaise with the dealer installations teams to assist the overall installation process and ensure they run smoothly.

Part of this will involve the monitoring of ad-hoc deliveries of products and installations to ensure the quality standards of Orangebox are maintained from the entire supply chain, and to ensure an immediate response is in place for any issues arising on installations or service work, particularly relating to post installation.

You will be expected to ensure all dealers are fully trained on all products, to ensure installations are carried out to the highest possible standards in an effort to minimise post installation product issues, and further develop and deliver an effective training plan for the dealership network.  Including, identifying knowledge gaps within the dealer network and planning appropriate training.

The successful candidates will act as an Ambassador of Orangebox on all technical product issues, both pre and post installation, and assist in gathering relevant information on issues encountered during product installations in order to improve the overall customer experience.  This will include monitoring and providing feedback to internal departments on the overall customer satisfaction following product installations and providing constructive feedback to the design, manufacturing and logistics teams within Orangebox UK and US Operations to assist with continual improvements.

The Person

The successful candidate for this vacancy must have the following experience, knowledge and qualities:

  • Previous experience of working within the office or domestic furniture industry and carrying out delivery and installation of furniture;
  • A sound geographical knowledge of the USA states and flexible to travel regularly in line with role requirements;
  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to plan workload, identify resource requirements and organise accordingly;
  • Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams and technical site drawings;
  • Excellent problem solving skills, with the ability to identify, analyse and recommend corrective actions;
  • Confidence in relaying knowledge and expertise to both internal and external parties;
  • Excellent communication skills both in person and via telephone / email / writing;
  • Pro-active attitude – willingness to go the extra mile to exceed customer expectations;
  • Driven and passionate about delivering a first class customer service and going the extra mile for the customer.
